Nutrients, oxygen, water and hormones are found in this system. The heart beats about 75 times per minute and pumps this liquid into the even smallest veins. High blood pressure, atherosclerosis or even in the worst case a heart attack, are signs of a systemic weakness.

Exercising regularly reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease. In order to train optimally, spiroergometry serves as an assessment basis for the personal stress limit. The interaction of the lungs, heart and muscular system are surveyed and possible functional impairments and shortfalls in performance are taken into account at compiling the individual training plan.
During training, long but light intensities enhance the endurance of the cardiovascular system. Short high intensities, such as interval training, are used to increase the oxygen uptake. Endurance activities such as cycling, walking or running, even on the elliptical cross trainer or stepper, increase performance. High-intensity interval training (HIIT) with squats, lunges and push-ups have also shown to be very effective - not only in recreational sports but also in cardiological rehabilitation.
